I finally put a light blue grey detail onto the wings, then dry-brushed some dark grey over the top so that a next layer of zinc white will have something to live over. The dark grey background is a good start too, and will take a glaze coat over it to make the background more interesting. I might paint a little landscape work in the gaps, for a little detail.
Still feeling crummy, but I can feel myself getting better, so I’m looking forward to getting some work done this evening.
I’m keeping a close eye on the fires in Santa Barbara, where I have several good friends. From what I can understand, all of their homes have been saved, although they now are standing in a blackened landscape, with their neighbors burned out. Nobody was hurt.
The wings are absolutely splendid! They look very similar to the swan’s wings in the picture I saw, great work as usual.
