Base Matter

I’m offering these pieces as tools for people to make their wishes, rooted in the old folk traditions of Britain.

The wishing stones paintings came from the old tradition of using holed stones for making wishes and on a grander scale for conducting handfasting ceremonies and making promises. Most of the British stones have been destroyed, but one or two remain, like the famous Men an Tol in Cornwall (below).

The paintings are pretty small, suitable for hanging in a quiet part of a house, or in a library. They’re peaceful reminders that we can shape our own world by deciding what we want it to be like.
